NASA Quest Project
Overview
Interning at the De Anza Community College cooperative program with NASA/Ames Research Center, I was introduced to basic HTML and worked with a team to develop and maintain a site focusing on streaming video content. At the LTC (Learning Technologies Channel) we produced video/audio feeds, and I was Technical Lead for online webcasts occurring both on-campus and in Key Largo, Florida.
Challenge Project
We set up an ISDN network infrastructure with a remote encoding station to provide live streaming video to K-12 classrooms. With some top billed names such as James Cameron and Kate Mulgrew to be interviewed from a small underwater craft, this project had a lot of potential. Unfortunately, Hurricane George interrupted operations at the last minute, and struck just as the first event was scheduled to begin. Most of the stars went home, and the site does not contain many archived events, but it was still a great experience none the less.
Astrobiology Lecture Series
This was my first solo project. I coordinated a weekly lectures series featuring some of the top scientists in the emerging field of Astrobiology. I worked with each scientist to put their lecture materials online for view during a one hour multi-media broadcast. This involved online powerpoint slides and RealVideo.
I designed and developed an accompanying site to archive the webcasts.

LTC Archive of Events - 1998
I did mostly production work on these events to set up and supervise the live online video encoding, then maintained an archive of the events.
